-DESCRIPTION

Bones has a body built for the desert. She's short and stocky without being fat, giving her a strength difficult to fight back against and an endurance that is almost inhuman. Her head is rarely seen by anyone, due to her namesake; a horned bull's skull had she's fitted onto her head as a makeshift helmet. It's used to protect her from both strikes to the head and the dust and sand of desert life. This is also the reason behind the woad that she has painted across her body in various places. These markings coat her body, and can also help camouflage her amongst the grass of the savannah. Her clothes are minimal, generally used to once again help disguise her in both desert and tall grass. She walks and runs with power and swiftness, but rarely stands at full height. She likes to crouch and clamber onto larger objects, which has instilled in her a good nimbleness into her. She's rarely seen without Wolf's Bane, her weapon of choice, and almost never seen without Bite-breaker, the name she gave to her 'helmet'. Under this helm is a scarred and young face, with very short black hair, but no one would knows; all that can be seen are her green eyes.

-PRIMARY WEAPONS

-> Wolf's Bane - An enchanted makeshift halberd

-SECONDARY WEAPONS

-> Bite-breaker - A make-shift helmet made out of a bull's helmet

-SORCERY SPECIALITY

Sound. She was taught magic by a sorceror investigating whether or not sorcery could be used to communicate with animals, so his and in turn Bones' magic specialised in the use of sounds. She tends to prefer to use them for purposes that would be useful in a harsh lonely enviroment, such as attacking, navigating and enhanced hearing.

-SKILLS

-> Very smart, with a strong knowledge of medicine, animal behaviour and chemistry
-> Is able to survive in the most harsh of conditions
-> Astoundingly quick to learn
-> A strong fighter
-> Extremely fit physically
-> Incredibly good rock climber

-WEAKNESSES

-> A massive hair-trigger temper
-> Unfamiliar with civilisation
-> Has a very shaky grasp on human languages
-> Aggressive
-> Poor social skills
-> Easily frightened by loud noises, in particular vehicles and crowds

-COMBAT STYLE

Bones learnt to fight from living with wolves. Her fighting style reflects this. Both she and the wolves realised the futility of her trying to bite an opponent to death, so she learnt to use her hands a lot more, clambering onto larger creatures in an effort to bring them down to ground. The same is true now; her fighting style has evolved to rely on throws, pins and grappling, akin to modern day submission wrestling. She highly values physical strength, and prefers to use her hands and legs to the same degree. However, she does have one weapon; Wolf's Bane, her enchanted halberd. This halberd is shorter than most spears, only just longer than a metre, but with a light and sharp blade on the end. This means that Bones can incorporate grappling a lot better. She also uses Wolf's Bane as a short ranged throwing weapon as well, if her opponent is trying to stay out of her reach. However, this is no flawless tactic. While strong and fast, her tactics are very meat headed and aggressive; she doesn't really have a surprise up her sleeve or something of the like. What you see is what you get, and as deadly as it is, it's also very predictable.

-PERSONALITY

A human being raised by wolves rarely happens, and for good reason. It doesn't usually work out.

However, Bones is a unique case in that she managed to survive being amongst a wolf pack for the first six years of her life before being discovered and taken in by humans. While she learnt language and science in those areas, she still retained the mentality of a wild wolf; extremely protective of those who have earnt her trust and friendship, but also with a hair-trigger temper that's ready to fly off at any provocation.

Bones has always been somewhat of a child prodigy when it comes to her intelligence; she managed to deduce that she wasn't a wolf even before humans discovered her. This comes from her curious nature; she adores exploration and learning, and always wants to learn more about the world. She's a quick learner and incredibly logical in her thinking. Looking at a device for the first time in her life she'll usually try to figure out how everything piece works, and will often manage to inspect each part in turn and figure out its purpose. Of course, this means that if she encounters a problem she can't solve or a puzzle that she can't work out, she'll become increasingly and unnervingly enraged. In fact, it doesn't take much to get Bones angry, and she can become very angry indeed. As smart as she is and as much as she desires to learn of humans, she is still a wolf at heart if not in body or mind, and she can fly into a tremendous rage over very little. During these times it is best to avoid her, as she is very aggressive and destructive. She can also be easily frightened by extremely loud noises, and they often send her into a panic similar to her wild anger.

This destruction, luckily, is only directed to those who warrent her temper. However, anger often suggests passion, and Bones is nothing if not passionate. She loves to meet new people, and those she considers her friends can consider themselves her friends for life. She's remarkably protective of those around her, unless of course they spark her anger. She's slow to forgive and still lacks much of the social skills those around her would have, but she's always trying to improve. She wants to fit back into human society eventually, but its neither easy for her or for those around her.

-HISTORY

Bones has a past full of unlikelihood and mystery. She was born to a family that she does not know. The family itself were a family of hunters from Yataris, but one day, when taking a simple walk in the Yatarian desert, they ended up picking a fight with pachyderm that they couldn't win. Bones' parents died to save the new born of less than a few weeks old, but she was not alone in the place she had been put in for safety. In fact, it was a temporary home for a small pack of wolves. The child was found but, rather than being devoured, was taken in by the wolves as an act of kindness. While she initially was the weakest of the wolves, she rose up to become an invaluable member of the pack thanks to her ability to grab things, and she joined them as the pack ventured southways to the savannah, following the migratory prey.

This was the way things were for the first six years of her life. Bones was rarely treat by the other wolves as anything more than a very useful tool, besides the she-wolf that initially discovered her. However, the further south they got, the more Bones learnt about survival; even at this young age she managed to deduce that she was no wolf herself, or at least a very odd one, and knew that there would be a time that she would have to abandon the pack. That day was foreshadowed by arguably an even more important day; the day that she was rediscovered by humans.

A four man expedition was in the area, researching animals and how sorcery could possibly be used to communicate with or control them, when they found a strange sight; a young girl travelling and hunting amongst a pack of wolves. The zoologist of the group took Bones in and the party shifted courses, travelling with the pack as well. While the wolves were incredibly suspicious, Bones herself was in fact remarkably trusting to the humans; after all, they were creatures that looked like her.

This expedition ended up lasting four years rather than the planned six months, as Bones was re-raised to act more like a human. However, the fields of expertise the people were (a zoologist, a doctor, a language expert and a sorceror) was the biggest impact on what Bones learnt; she learnt to speak, walk on two legs and read basic english, but got a particularly good grasp on medicine and science. She learnt from the mouths of world leading experts on these subjects, and even learnt magic from the sorceror, specifically the magic of sound manipulation. However, the dream was not to last; the wolf pack was growing increasingly impatient with the human party that stalked them and took the time away from one of their most useful assets in the pack. Finally, one day the alpha of the pack snapped and tried to drive away the humans. Bones, however, knew of the wolf's impatience, and knew that she had to become the new alpha. However, she was not nearly as strong as this beast, so had to put her new wits and knowledge to the test. She learnt from the zoologist that most wolves bite for the head and neck, so she made a makeshift helmet out of a dead bull's skull, and she made a makeshift halberd so she could fight back. This is what won her the fight and made her the new alpha, and she has very much refused to take it off since, in part to keep control of the wolves, and in part for sentimental value.

Now at the age of ten, Bones accompanied the humans back to the city of Sabrie... only to find it disorientating and frightening. She was almost completely unable to cope, and once again went to the wild, to traverse the savannah and the desert alone, devoting herself to rediscovering humanity on her own terms and giving herself a more gradual introduction into the human world before going to the larger cities. This she did, occasionally with her wolf pack but mostly by herself, seeking out human contact and learning more and more. Her main source of information was small settlements and hunting or adventuring parties, and she kept learning of her own kind. This has been her path for ten years now.

-SORCERY TECHNIQUES

-> Volume manipulation - At this current level of her sorcery, Bones is able to amplify or lower the volume of sounds she can both hear and sounds she makes herself. This means that she can hear oncoming dangers, make herself near silent in footsteps and breathing or shout incredibly loudly for either intimidation or offensive purposes, such as her 'Shocking Howl'. These have little in the way of restrictions; all she requires to do this is to at least hear a sound and be able to focus on it. If a sound is made and she can't hear it, she can't amplify it. However, this process takes time, dedication and focus, things that Bones won't have in the heat of the moment. If distracted, she'll be unable to manipulate volume. She also can only do this to one sound at a time, and that includes on subjects making multiple sounds; if she makes her breath silent, she can't change the volume of her footsteps, for example.

-FINISHERS

-> Shocking Howl - An extremely loud shockwave is let out in the direction that Bones howls in. This is very powerful, and propels both Bones and whatever it hits back by a long way. Bones can either use this to force targets into corners or, by howling at the ground, propel her in the air and increase her jump . This has no limit on how many times it can be used in a day, but usually exhausts Bones in the process, and if she uses it while tired or in rapid succession (more than once within twenty seconds for example) she could very well knock herself out due to exhaustion.

Pseudo-Revise

Okay. So, your word counts add up, and things are mostly fine. While I'll default to Ross's decision on this, I do want to point out a few concerns:

1) The concept of a "feral child" is very... precarious. Most records of the "raised by (insert animal)/lived in the wild alone" variants are based on second- or third-hand reports, though you can achieve similar results by simply abusing a child (and such events have most certainly happened). However, Bones is missing out on some very important stages of her childhood, where a lot of physical and mental development occur. I could rattle on and on about this, but here's the short version: yes, it's a cool concept, but in reality it's a lot more detrimental to an individual then it's made out to be. I willingly accept that part of RPing a character means being a cut above the rest, but this is something out of left field to me. I really want to discuss this with Ross first.

2) Shocking Howl (Force). Honestly, it's something good, but I'm reading a couple issues with it. First, you mention it can "crack stone." That's cool. Not sure where the bar is set for a level 1 power (something separate I need to discuss with Ross), but you mention about pushing people back (Fus Ro Dah!) or propelling yourself. Keep in mind that a lot of force goes into cracking/breaking rocks. I'm imagining people suffering broken ribs and concussions (or dying) from Shocking Howl, rather than just getting forced back. And while I do acknowledge that one can control the force (it's magic, after all), then I think that cracking stone would be the problem.

3) Shocking Howl (Jump). Keep in mind that just because you can launch yourself that high, doesn't mean you'll be unscathed when you land...

4) Shocking Howl (Uses). Time's rather lucid, even in one post. So while once every 20+ seconds is cool, you're the only person keeping track of "X time has passed from this action this the next action." Again, I'm afraid I'll need to talk to Ross about it.

Sorry if I sound knit-picky, but those are my concerns. I apologize if this dampers on your plans, but I'd rather be safe then sorry, as they say.

I tweaked her force so it wouldn't crack stone, as your point makes sense. I might save that for a later level. All your other points I'll keep in mind. Thanks again.

The feral child I can deal with, and I'm sure is worked through fine on your end. Izzy tackled everything to do with Shocking Howl - my only problem is with how you've described the Sorcery technique. If you could just go a little more in-depth, maybe give it a title, I don't know, your call; just describe what she can do, generally, outside the boundaries of her Special Abilities.
