#008 - Raptors
Name: Raptors
Location: Spread throughout the world
Lifespan: 15-25 Years
Picture:
Miscellaneous Notes: There are four main types of raptor;
Common Raptor
This rascal is the most often seen, in almost every suitable habitat with proper hiding places for them, and is medium sized, setting raptor standards at around 3-4 feet high. Hunting in packs of 5-8, they catch anything from small to medium sized animals, and have been known to atttack humans. First picture.
Desert Raptor
The desert raptor, obviously named, is found in the desert, and sports a large, two-sided crest, with a shrill, dry cry. Generally, it stuns the enemy, and using its natural camoflauge, skirts around them before the pack converges, generally isolating a disoriented single specimen of prey before executing it. Second pic.
Tundra Raptor
Tundra raptors don't require nearly as much heat to survive as the common raptor, and whilst generally emaciated, scrappy, and almost malnourished, they're hardy and can survive many a winter, generally surviving for longer and considered the elite of the regular raptors. Third pic.
Invis Raptor
The Invis raptor, a close-knit and heavily diverse crested strain found at the base and on certain mountain precipices, alongside through their burrowed dens close to the volcano's heart, resides on, as you'd guess, Mt. Invis. These raptors are especially cold-blooded and require the volcano's warmth to sustain themselves. Fourth pic.
