A&A functions on a simple reward system. As you start, there are a limited amount of things your character can do. As you post, progressively, you gain 'credits' with a character. These credits, of which you gain three per role-play post (five during events), can be spent on many a thing, from purchasing new weapon slots or exchanging for new character slots.

An entire catalogue of things can be found here, at the site 'store'. Don't worry. There's no real currency involved.

As well as this, credits bonuses may be giving out for certain achievements with characters dependent on how I feel. A credit count is maintained for each account, but we're lenient if you want to pool your resources together to spend all on one character. You can also transfer them between each account simply by asking a mod to do the administrative work for you.

Credits can also be deducted for minor misdemeanours, infringement of certain advised regulations in place perhaps by a group (done mainly to remove the possibility of repetitive betrayal) and simply if we feel like being vindictive (joking... I think).

As for Leveling, you've probably noticed that nifty little 'summary' section below your avatar, now, where your points count and 'Power Level' can be found. This signifies whether you're on turf with a character or not - there's a decisive initial battle outcome evident by Power Level if, say, a Level 1 character were to fight a Level 5. Level 5 vs Level 4 would be different, and Level 5 vs Level 5 could be incredibly destructive if rather enjoyable and something of a close shave.

With each Level, characters gain the potential for more weaponry, an additional special ability, as well as a required 50-word addendum per level to Personality and History to show that your character has progressed both physically and mentally. Your custom rank is also subject to change for each level - that's the little link beneath your avatar - if you feel like it. If not, don't worry.

Leveling up costs a progressive amount and is generally intended to show a character's development. Alongside this, any militant character will undergo another rank roll for the next-level category of ranks. For instance, a Sabrian Militant, at level 2, who has the rank of 'Centurion', will be promoted automatically to the 'Legate' rank category, where the dice will be rolled again, free of charge, and he will be promoted. With promotion comes more freedom and ability, as well as command over more troops, alongside recognition.
